BULGARIA
The urgent need for a "new evangelization" and the Church's requests for the countries of the East were addressed by the General Council of Sisters in December 1990.
Unanimously proposed is the return to Bulgaria:
land so dear to our history.
CATECHISM, PASTORAL FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES
The sisters fulfill their specific mission of evangelization through youth groups, preparation for the sacraments, catechism for families and children, organized activities for the elderly and Roma.
THE MISSION OF EDUCATION
The sisters work as teachers in public schools: they teach religion and animation courses for children in both missions:
Rakovski and Zhitnitsa.
MERCIFUL AID FOR THE POOR AND THE NEEDING
A new center for social development, rehabilitation and integration in the community has been established in the monastery of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rakovski.

MERCIFUL AID FOR THE POOR AND THE NEEDING
The sisters are dedicated to caring for people in need, offering lunch once a week to the poor, and creating projects and activities to help people with disabilities, thus spreading the message of the gospel. In 2020 Under the project of the European Union and the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rakovski, a new center for social development, rehabilitation and integration into the community was established in the monastery "St. Elizabeth" in Rakovski.
