Scouts' Spring Camp

The scouts' spring camp was held in the parish of St. Peter and Paul, Miromir, from 31st March to 3rdApril.

35 children and 10 scout leaders participated. The theme that united their activities was dedicated to the history and waters of Hissar.

In the first day was discussed the theme of water: the formation of Hissar as a center from antiquity to the present day and also the subject of water in terms of physical and chemical characteristics and processes. The history of Hissar as an ancient city build by Romans was the topic of the second day.

The Scout games and workshops have been adapted to the topics covered. Both Father Mihail from the parish of Burgas and Father Ivelin Genov brought an abundance of spiritual "food" for the youthful hearts. The children also had the spiritual happiness of being visited by Bishop Hristo Proykov. His visit sparked a real joy. His encouragement and Episcopal blessing were a happy moment for the Scouts. The spring camp of the Bulgarian Catholic Scouts has once again brought a lot of knowledge, spiritual growth, joy, games and fun to their participants, who are looking forward to meeting in their next gatherings.

Testimony of scouts from Rakovski:
"After the morning wake-up call, the day's programme was introduced to us. One of the iconic moments we experienced was the Via Crucis. It was held in the streets of the small picturesque village - Miromir. We felt a deep respect for this ancient devotion, typical for the time of Lent. Father Mihael, resurrectionist, explained each step to us, and then with the concrete situations, the priest tried to explain what our path as baptized meant and how Jesus enters our life.
Other moments we want to share are connected with games which were very educational. For example, the test relating to water and the conservation of water resources. There were fun night games when we took a 10km walk to find the mineral springs in Hissar and complete the map tasks. We wish all readers during the synodal years to walk together as a community that discovers and deepens the values of our friendship and faith in Jesus Christ."
