The documentary film "Meeting Pope Francis" is dedicated to the visit of the Head of the Roman Catholic Church in Bulgaria on May 5 and 6, 2019.
The film aims to follow the most important and exciting moments of the visit of the Holy Father and his meetings with the faithful in Sofia and Rakovski.
The characters in the story are 8-year-old Iva Kocheva from Rakovski - one of the 245 children who received Holy Communion personally from Pope Francis, Father Strahil Kavalenov, translator of Pope Francis in Bulgaria and director Wim Wenders, who made a film with the Holy Father, shot for at the age of two in the Vatican.
An analysis of the Pope's messages in Bulgaria is made by Prof. Vladimir Gradev, a lecturer at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and former ambassador of our country to the Holy See. Personal impressions of Pope Francis are shared by Bishop Hristo Proikov, Apostolic Exarch in Bulgaria and Iva Mihailova, spokesperson for the Catholic Church in Bulgaria.
The director is Borislava Dimova - author of many documentaries and lecturer at NBU. Cameraman is Atanas Atanasov, screenwriter - Tsvetelina Yordanova, editor Teodora Karoleeva. Producer is Nadia Obretenova.
